As long as your service has not been suspended for non-payment, you can make changes including adding features to your plan. If the service is suspended for non-payment then changes cannot be made until service is restored by paying the past due amount.

Well, there’s a website called phonezoo.com that I LOVE. You sign up then put in your phone number to check if it is compatible with your phone model. Then if it works you search for ringtones and then press send to phone. It will then send a link in a text and you press download and there you go!

How do I incorporate a contact or “message us” form into my small business website?

I know some basic web design, such as writing and linking a few simple webpages from scratch into a basic website using a little html, css and even a little javascript that I taught myself but I still don’t know how to create a WORKING form with text-entry fields in it that lets customers that visit my website be able to send me a message right from my website (like in my “contact us” page). How do I incorporate/create something like that in my website? I don’t have any usable knowledge of PHP or anything like that to do it so how would someone like me create/incorporate something like that (by themselves)? Thanks for your help.

admin answers:

You need to use a server side language like PHP to process the form. If you dont have the knowledge and don’t want to pay a PHP programmer, then you can embed a 3rd party form like Wufoo

http://www.wufoo.com

You create and host the form and data submitted on their server and include it on your site by copy and pasting the code they provide to you after generating your form.

How do I deal with a 34 lb. package waiting for me at the UPS Store?

I was just notified by the UPS Store, they received a package for me weighing 34 lbs. I normally only use that address for business and never give it to anyone. I called the UPS Store and they said it had a phoney return address, John Doe, Any Street, Anytown, MT. Tracking showed an origin scan of Louisville, KY.

I’ve been getting lots of weird emails telling me to be expecting a book which will be shipped to me, but they had incorrect information, one said it would be shipped Fed Ex and the other said USPS. I can’t tell who they are from and I didn’t order any book. Now I get an email that I was sent a shipment via UPS in error and I need to immediately email the person back with the ISBN and how many books are in the box, then they will send me further instructions what to do with it.

I’m not sure what to do at this point, I’m out of the area and not able to run to the UPS Store for a few days, I did not send these people any money or request they send me anything. Today I’m getting text messages that I need to pick up the package and get back to them with the requested information or they will have no choice but to report the shipment stolen.

I asked at the UPS Store and they said they can’t ship it back, they also said I have to pay a storage fee if I don’t come get it or have someone pick it up. It would totally suck if I had to pay a storage fee then had to figure out how to dispose of a 34 lb. package. Does anyone know if there’s a way around me going there to pick the thing up? I don’t want anything to do with their crap.
My first 2 answers just missed the point. It’s confusing I know, but the UPS Store is NOT owned or operated by UPS. It’s like Mailboxes Etc. where you “rent” a mailbox but the box has a street address. It’s been very helpful because they accept shipments from Fed Ex, DHL, UPS, USPS and several others on my behalf. They will sign for a Fed Ex package and leave it in my mailbox and I have 24 hour access, so I can pick it up Sunday afternoon.

To make it clear, the shipper UPS delivered the package to my UPS Store address, the UPS Store accepted the package on my behalf and signed for it. They said they have to hold the package for me and can’t give it back to UPS without a return shipping label. Had UPS delivered the package to my door and I refused to sign for it, they would have to take it back and deal with it, but since I authorized them to sign for my packages, as far a UPS is concerned, the package was delivered.

The UPS Store not UPS was who co
Also, it’s not so much that the UPS Store wants to charge me for storage, but I just found out there are 2 more packages waiting for me. I don’t want to have to keep running after this crap that I didn’t order. It all started when someone from Florida wanted to by something from me and the had a scammer from another state send me a fake check. I told them to go take a flying F**K and now I’m getting packages from all over the US sent to me using various shippers and all from different “fake” return addresses. As far as I’m concerned, the cops can come haul the stuff away and deal with it so I don’t have to dispose of it but I also understand the UPS Store doesn’t want to be responsible for handing over a legit package by accident. Knowing these local cops, they’d blow up my $3.000 camera lens because the box was a weird shape.

admin answers:

The store shouldn’t charge you for storage since they know the return address isn’t legitimate and you didn’t cause the item to be shipped. Go to the store when you are back in town and explain to them that they will lose your business and your monthly mail box fee if they insist on the storage charge.

The store needs adopt a process to detect these fraudulent shipments and refuse them on your behalf or they will go out of business. The criminals now know that at least one package was accepted at that store and they will try again.

Well I think that they should have fired her in person. Texting the girl to inform her that she was fired was a pathetic way to let someone go- I don’t care that they say they work in a youth-oriented business and that they were keeping up with “youth culture”- The fact is that they need to be more professional and fire her using a “traditional” method.

You can do it in a couple of different ways :
- compose some short poem/verse about education or learning or graduation, or success, etc. & include the date, time, place within the lines or add them separately towards the end or in one corner …
- write a simple message about how you would like the person to be present & why – how you would treasure his/her presence & how you are thankful to them for their love/support/belief in you, etc….
- draw/sketch a graduation day scene & using appropriate road-marks, indicators or banners, etc. Add the details that are necessary.
- you could depict it as a chalk writing on a blackboard, etc., inviting your guest …..or in more scholastic language ….

Hope these help
all the very best & congrats

admin answers:

It does not matter. ANYONE can access your texts from whatever computer you sync your phone with. Your phone stores them in a file and there are a few good freeware programs that find and decode the texts. Google your question and see what comes up.

The scarier thing is that the file that contains ALL of your texts (when you see it) is so small and any hacker can get it. Millions be stored on a small external drive. When the news talks about, say a criminal who texted someone something a long time ago, this is how they get it. FROM THE COMPUTER. Private investigators here in the states use this file all the time (say to a spouse who thinks the partner is cheating “can you get hold of their computer for a few minutes?) Not legal, but neither are half the stunts they pull.

Now if a government can get that file…Or how about someone that hacks it, manipulates it THEN puts it back onto your computer)

Seriously, take a look. You will be simply amazed…

Have you considered checking the manual? There should be a way – with my phone, when texting, I can just hit the Menu button & then select which characters I want to use: Symbols, Numbers, Words, T9… – It sounds like your phone is set to the t9 setting which automatically ‘suggests’ words for you. If it is a common word you are typing, try hitting the “next” key (looking at the pic of the phone on the site as I have boostmobile also it looks like it would be the ’0′ key)…
Here is the link to the PDF manual for that phone from the boost site:

You don’t, Mandi. You have a real conversation, where emotions can be transmitted without resorting to using symbols made from punctuation. For God’s sake, YOU’RE HOLDING A PHONE. Just call him; you’ll be able to tell in about 10 seconds whether he likes you or not.

I’m not trying to be critical, but there is a LOT of room to misinterpret text messages. Texts ruin friendships and relationships every day; just watch this section if you don’t believe me. Most importantly, learn how to have a conversation with a boy. Don’t let texts be your voice, and don’t let Facebook be your matchmaker. If you’re not mature enough to talk to a guy you like, you’re not mature enough to have a relationship.

Help! How do I re-set the TEXT MESSAGING back button on my Verizon cell phone?

I have been text messaging a long time with no problems. Yesterday I obviously hit some other key(s) or setting by mistake. Now when I try to enter text, it no longer does the usual thing (the cursor stays in one place and you scroll through A,B,C,2 for your selection).

Now instead it is giving me some weird multiple entry thing with underneath it looks like a big back-button kind of backslash. This is making me nuts! I need this for work too and ˆ don’t have time to drive to a store. Does anybody know? What is it? How do I set it back to the regular text entry format?
I hope you have it fixed by now but if you don’t it sounds like you’ve put it into t9 entry mode. I’m not 100% sure how to fix it permanently but to change entry modes you probably hit the * 0 or # symbol… If you call 18009220204 and talk to tech support they can walk you through it specific for your phone. If you went to a store it’d take about 10 seconds to change back. Also, if you bought the phone from a store it came with a users manual. The answer would be in there or you could download the users manual at nokia.com. The model of your handset is printed under the battery.

You can send a text message from email in the following format

10digitphonenumber@provider.com

For example, if your friends phone number was 123-456-789 and he was on Verizon, you would email him at 123456789@vtext.com

Then after a week of trying to turn it on and off, clear the inbox, and even re-program it I decided to see if anyone else had the same problem online.
No it does not – it also works via texting (SMS) too. But it also depends on who your cellular provider is. In the U.S. Are the following providers supported by twitter:
Verizon
Sprint
Nextel
Boost
T-Mobile
Alltel
Dobson/ Cellular One

admin answers:

The SE W710i is a GSM phone, so if it’s unlocked you will be able to use it on Cingular/AT&T’s network. Now for some of the hoops you are going to have to jump through.

You will have to program the settings for Media Net, Text Messages, and Multimedia Messages (picture/video messages) manually.

If you do decide to do this, I’ll link the setting information to you. Now keep in mind that what you are looking at is how to get to the setting from a w810i. It might be different getting on the w710i, but the actual settings are going to be the same.

Media Net Settings:

https://www.wireless.att.com/support/tutorials.do?tutorialPage=page2&universe=cingular&deviceId=9090&tutorialsCategory=Browser&tutorialId=306540

Text Messages Settings (this is to Validate the Message Center Number):

MMS Settings:

https://www.wireless.att.com/support/tutorials.do?tutorialPage=page2&universe=cingular&deviceId=9090&tutorialsCategory=Picture+Messaging&tutorialId=307000

One other thing to keep in mind, is if you do end up having trouble with the phone AT&T’s warranty or insurance will not cover the phone. If you have any problems with it, you will have to talk with where you purchased it. And any specific questions about it, you will have to talk with Sony Ericsson directly.

The only thing that Customer Service is going to be help you with is network issues.

Those are just a couple things to think about, and there is a chance that Media Net will not even work with the phone.

Best advice, just know what you are doing with unlocked phones before you purchase. Do a lot of homework.

How do you feel about the possibility of true magic?

By “magic” I mean some paranormal events or abilities that are inexplicable by the current laws of science. My primary interests here are philosophical and psychological, so I would like to see answers focused on how it would FEEL for you to realize the reality of magic, and how it would affect your beliefs about the nature of reality. Suppose, for example, that you discovered that you, or someone you love, has magical healing powers, or telekinetic abilities, or something of that sort, and you are able to rule out the possibility of faking, etc., so that you are faced with believing that you are truly witnessing something inexplicable to current science. Would it affect your belief in the existence and/or nature of God? Would it affect your view of human nature of the role of spiritual meaning in your life? Would you tell people, or keep quiet for fear that people would think you were crazy? Would you be intrigued by the power? Or fearful that there was some evil behind it?

Good question! While I’m not a religious person I do study scripture in addition to several ancient texts of teachings. Jesus proclaimed that ‘greater works than these you shall do’. We’ve all heard about the miracles he performed. He was also visited by the three magi at his birth…three magicians? There is no doubt in my mind that magic is possible but at the same time I think we’ll grow to understand the laws behind it over time and it will no longer be considered magic. Years ago the concept of cell phones seemed magic.
The etheric web of the planet encompasses all within it and functions much like our nervous system in our bodies, transmitting messages and carrying information. Thus it is explainable how telepathy works when the channels of love are unimpeded. . . . ‘In whom we live and move and have our being.’
Healing powers work irregardless of distance but depending on the patient and the cause of the disease process. Some people can be healed by energy, others probably not without working through some karmic issues first.
Overcoming the laws of gravity and the laws of space and time are possible IMO but not many have experienced them. Those who have are probably of an advanced nature and don’t succumb to glamour and showing off.
Every day brings us closer to understanding the energies inherent within our universe. As we understand them we no longer term them as magic. The potential lies within each of us to heal, to teleport, to be telepathic receivers and transmitters and to be telekinitic. I think a safety net is in place to prevent us from using these abilities too much before we truly learn to love one another so that the abilities can’t be used for harming others.
There can be evil usage of certain abilities but they are much more limited than those used in the name of compassion and love.
Didn’t mean to write so much! Interesting question~

“How do you access System Volume Information?” The REAL question is: WHY do you think you have to??? If you can’t follow Microsoft’s “techno-babble”, look for other clearer websites. Google for:

System Volume Information

Then, find a website that YOU can understand! See an example below:

Please re-post and explain your EXACT problem, with the full text of all error messages (and the LINK you referred to), and then, maybe, we can help.

TIP: “I’m on a windows XP”. Home or Pro??? This stuff only works on XP Pro.

How do I stop getting hundreds of mailer daemon bounced back emails saying undeliverable.?

When I did not send any of those emails. It is possible some one hijacked my email address and using it to send spam. Out of that hundreds are coming into my in box by mailer daemon- undeliverable. Is changing my email address to a different provider the only solution?

admin answers:

One possibility is that spammers have accessed your account to send spam from it.
Another is that spammers are sending it from elsewhere, but they have forged your email address as the reply-to.

Start with the first possibility. Scan your computer for viruses and spyware. If something is detected, clean it out. When the computer is clean, change your password. That could end the spam with your return address if that was the cause.

If the spam with your return address was sent from a different account, it can be tougher to stop. It may be hopeless. However, you can make it so that maybe some of the spammers hosts will close their accounts. They will move to new ones, but if they correctly guess that having your address forged is making this happen, they may choose a different address to forge. If there is a virus-infected computer sending itself with your address forged, the host might be able to contact the owner to get the computer fixed.
Okay, how to make that happen.

You are looking at spam that is not being sent to you; it is being sent to others. You want to look at delivery failure notices that got bounced to you. Some of these show more content than others. You want to find delivery failure notices that captured the full headers of the spam as it got sent. You do not need to bring up the full headers of the delivery failure email to you. The automated system that bounced it to you is not the offender. The offender is the original sender whose message got bounced to you. So you need to work up the spammer based on the headers (if any) that the delivery failure notice may have captured. If the delivery failure notices doesn’t provide this, you can’t do anything useful with it. Copy the body of the delivery failure message and paste it into Notepad. You will later copy from Notepad and paste into your email to the abuse departments. Explain that it is spam with your email address forged that bounced to you in the form of a delivery failure.
Here is a tool that will help:
ARIN whois on IP numbers is available at

https://ws.arin.net/whois/

Do ARIN whois on the IP numbers from the headers of the spam, as captured by the delivery failure notice. It should refer you to the internet provider of the spammer. It’s possible that the IP number highest in the header is the mailserver of the domain that could not find the intended address. Look deeper for an IP number of the account that sent the spam. Copy the address for their abuse department. If the spam was sent from outside the North American region it may show you an address for a different region, e.g. APNIC, RIPE, LACNIC, or AfrNIC. ARIN has links to those. Look up the IP numbers there.
Forward the delivery notice to the abuse department. Include an explanation that the delivery notice shows spam with your address forged was bounced to you, and that the delivery notice shows full headers of the original spam.
I like to send a Bcc to myself to show that my email, went through, to keep a record of the report, and to see how it is displayed to the recipient.
If there is a file attachment, it is probably a virus. Do not forward an attached virus. Compose your abuse complaint as plain text by copying and pasting into a new message.

You don’t have to work up every one of these in your mailbox. Do a few. Do the newest ones; don’t bother with the oldest ones.

How can I deal with a company that won’t stop texting me?

There is a company for e -cigarttes or something that CONSTANTLY texts me about buying an e-cig. I have not signed up to any new websites or anything in the past year almost and I made sure that the places I signed up for DID NOT disclose any of my personal information, including my phone number. I am not sure how they got my phone number but they never send their text messages from a number but from an email address.

I’ve tried on three occasions to respond to them. In the first message, I asked them to not text my phone any further because I did not give them authorization to text my phone nor did I ever need an e-cig because I don’t smoke. I never have. The second message I threatened to call a lawyer if they didn’t stop (thinking it would scare them off). They still continued to send messages. The next two times they sent a messages to my phone I sent them a message calmly explaining that I did not and do not authorize them to send me any messages and that I did not smoke, the messages were not appreciated and that if they did not stop I would file a lawsuit for harrassment. (Again, just me trying to scare them off) They sent me a different message offering the same product less than five minutes from the time I sent them that message and now they are bothering me even MORE.

It’s as if they are taunting me on purpose. They used to send the messages every two or three days but since I sent the last message I sent, they’ve sent me messages DAILY and often times two or three times a day. I deal with anxiety issues and for some reason, this really really bothers me. It’s not annoyance, it makes me short of breath and tear up a little and stresses me severely to the point that I can not focus on my work, which leads to several mistakes being made that is taken out of my paycheck.

I just want them to stop. I’m trying to deal with my anxiety issues for now, but it’s really hard when I feel like I’m being taunted for fun and it’s just really really stressful and I have no clue what to do about it or how to make it stop.

Immediately phone your state’s attorney general’s office of consumer protection and file a complaint. It is completely illegal to send any unsolicited marketing to a person’s phone without their permission. It is a violation of federal and state law, and you could (in theory) sue them in state court, but it’s better to let the administration (funded by taxes) try to resolve it first. They can fine the company or even prohibit them from ever doing business in your state.

You can send the message via your computer (through your wireless carrier’s site, or perhaps Yahoo!) or your cell phone of course. When dialling you have to enter 011 + country code + and then the wireless number. You can check your wireless carriers site for the appropriate country code.

International text messages can be a bit pricey. (sometimes 50 cents) There are services on line that offer a better deal. I will include a link below that will give you some suggestions.

admin answers:

Well, it depends on what service prodiver you have ..

Like, I have an “unlimited” texting package, but it’s unlimited to only AT&T customers, and 200 others w/o AT&T.

That 200 counts towards computers, and if I go over, then they charge me.

But, yes .. If it’s “any provider”, it’s to computers too, like AIM and Yahoo.

EDIT — She’s talking about texting to AIM people. They can “text” you from AIM, and she was wondering if that counted. It does count .. My cousin works for AT&T and he said it workd for AT&T and all of the other companies.

How to get high listings on the search engines without paying?

admin answers:

This is an answer I wrote about 12 months ago, things may have changed slightly but a lot will still hold true…

Several criteria determine the amount of traffic your website gets but by far the most important are to have a good search engine ranking and good links to your site.

Search engines use a complicated and secret algorithm to determine which sites are placed where in the rankings but there are several tricks you can employ to boost you ranking.

There’s lots of articles on the net to do with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) but I ignore all of them and do things my way. This seems to work as every site I’ve created ranks within the top 6 on Google even when there’s millions of results found. A site I created less than a week ago is already ranked number 1 by Yahoo and Google.

These are some of my tips…

– GIVE YOUR PAGE A GOOD TITLE TAG –
One of the first things a search engine looks at is the title tag of the page. When writing the tag use the same words people are likely to key in when using a search engine. For example, if your page is about space travel then a title such as “Space Travel – Be a Shuttle Rocket Tourist and Journey to the Moon” is much better than “All about flying to the moon and back”. Why? Because the first tag includes words people are likely to use in a search engine such as space, travel, shuttle, rocket, tourist, journey and moon.

– GIVE YOUR PAGE A RELEVANT NAME –
Search engines look at page names. If your domain was mydomain.com then a page name such as mydomain.com/space-travel will do much better than mydomain.com/section1/part2/page3.

– USE THE DESCRIPTION TAG –
Some search engines including Google support this tag – others don’t.

Compare a Yahoo search for ‘Black Eyed Peas’ to a Google Search. Both of them find blackeyedpeas.com but Yahoo describe it as “… Multi-platinum 2-time Grammy-winners The Black Eyed Peas cross an historic threshold as their hit … The Black Eyed Peas, Sergio Mendes, John Legend, Justin Timberlake and others …”. Google uses the description tag and describes it as “Official site includes videos, message boards, tour dates, and photo gallery. Additional content is available to members.”

– USE THE ALT TAG –
Some search engines ignore the alt tag, others include it when spidering your site. Not only that but some visually impaired users and power-surfers who turn off images rely on alt tags.

– FLASH ANIMATION / SCRIPTING / DHTML –
Spiders are unable to follow these linking systems. If all your pages are linked using Flash, DHTML or scripts then the spider won’t follow the links and your pages won’t get indexed. If you’re designing your site this way the least you can do it to include conventional text links to the main pages of your site and ideally to a Site Map that contains text links to every page.

– SPLASH PAGES –
These are the animated front pages to a site, usually nothing there other than an animation and a ‘Skip Intro’ link. Spiders don’t like Splash and as this is the doorway to your site think carefully before creating one.

– DOORWAY PAGES –
These are pages that exist on a site but are not accessible to the visitor, if someone tries to access the page they are redirected elsewhere. Historically webmasters created such pages and stuffed them full of popular keywords and phrases.

Spiders have wised up to Doorways and there’s nothing better for getting yourself pushed right down in the rankings or kicked out altogether than use of Doorway Pages.

– HIDDEN TEXT –
Some web pages hide text by printing white text on a white background for example. Often such text has nothing at all to do with the site but is just a list of popular words and phrases used to draw people to the site. Spiders can spot tricks like these and will penalise sites that employ such tactics.

– PUT A HEADING ON YOUR PAGE –
The heading should closely match the page title. You need to format the heading as a Heading Style and not simply use bold and underlined text.

– REPEAT KEYWORDS AND PHRASES –
Include in the text of your page several instances of keywords and phrases people may use in a search engine. Using the space travel example your page should include words such as space, travel, fly, moon, space-tourist and so on. Repeat them frequently but don’t overdo it.

– USE OF THE KEYWORD TAG –
This is something that’s falling out of favour with search engines. Originally this was a useful tag for ensuring your page contained variants of words, particularly those that are often mis-spelled (e.g. Britney, Britany, Brittany, Spears, Spiers etc). I haven’t used this tag for some time and I’ve heard people say it can be detrimental to search engine rankings.

– AVOID 404 (PAGE NOT FOUND) ERRORS –
Spiders hate these and after finding one or two on your site will leave it. Don’t rely on an E404 page to take visitors to a designated page when the target page is missing.

– ADD YOUR SITE TO DIRECTORIES –
You can add your site to appropriate categories in online directories. There’s hundreds of them altogether but the 4 main ones are…

http://www.wikidweb.com/

http://www.dmoz.org/

http://directory.google.com/

There’s an extensive list here… Http://www.seocompany.ca/directory/free-web-directories.html

– SEARCH ENGINE SUBMISSION –
Google dominates the search engine market, Yahoo and MSN are the other two key players. A lot of the others use Google.

If you can get your site indexed by these three then you’ve pretty much covered all your bases. Rather than waiting for the spiders to find you it may help to add your site to the submission lists.

http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html

http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx?FORM=WSDD2

– ESTABLISH GOOD LINKS –
This is the most important factor of all. You need lots of relevant and ‘respected’ pages linking back to yours as each link scores bonus points in the rankings algorithm. The best links are those from trusted sites that are themselves established. For example, if the space travel site has links from NASA, the European Space Agency, ABC News and the like it will give it a serious boost in the rankings. One link from NASA would be worth more than a whole bunch of links from less relevant sites.

It’s worth taking the time and effort to get links from as many sites as possible. Visit relevant sites and e-mail the webmaster with details of your site.

Because links are vitally important your site has to be make people want to link to it. I make it a policy to never link to sites that have pop-ups and I’m sure many other people do too.

– HAVE A GOOD SITE –
When creating your site think how it’s going to appear to visitors. Bear in mind different people use different browsers and have different connection speeds. A large page might look fantastic to someone with a fast connection will be a real pain to someone with a slow connection. If you need to put advertising on your site then make it relevant and discreet – one thing guaranteed to get someone off your site is to have pop-ups and ‘in yer face’ advertising, can you think of any successful site that employs these tactics?

If your site is an informative one then make it so visitors can get the information they want quickly – don’t go for Flash intros and complicated menus and use only common fonts, if the font isn’t on a visitors computer their browser will use the default font instead.

Navigation must be easy with every page having a link back to the homepage and don’t use frames, they’re seriously outdated, users don’t like them and spiders ignore them.

Avoid cluttering your site, spread it out or onto more pages. Keep the text brief, unless it’s something the visitor wants to read they’ll soon get bored and go off to another site.

– REMEMBER WHY PEOPLE USE THE INTERNET –
Ignoring porn and all that stuff, the primary use of the internet is for information so make your pages informative. The space travel website could include information about the universe, each of the planets in the solar system, a history of space flight and so on. This will generate a lot more traffic which in turn is likely to lead to more links and ultimately a higher ranking.

– IGNORE SEO COMPANIES –
You probably receive e-mails from companies offering to get you higher rankings in the search engines. Their number one concern isn’t your site but their balance sheet, treat them the same as you would with an e-mail for Viagra and hit delete. They do work to an extent but not by doing anything you can’t do for free. Google get e-mails from companies offering to help rank their own site, see what else Google have to say about these companies… Http://www.google.com/webmasters/seo.html

– CONSIDER ADWORDS –
You pay for these, how much you pay is up to you. If someone enters a search phrase that matches your adwords then your ad is displayed on the results page. If more than one ad matches then they’re displayed in the order of who pays most for their adwords.

– SPREAD THE WORD –
Just tell people about your site and add posts in relevant forums, blogs etc.

– BE PATIENT –
In general the longer a site is around the better it does in the search engine rankings, largely because as time passes more and more sites will link to it. If your site relates to a popular subject you may find it ranks low down to start with then climbs steadily in the rankings, it could take years before you have a good ranking.

– THE END –
Hope this gives you something to go on and you get the traffic you want.

Professional Design
Your website is how the world will view you so you MUST have it professionally designed, just as you would a brochure or booklet.

O Never get a techie to design your site, they will choose function over form.
O Use a designer template if you are on a tight budget
o If using animations, such as flash, keep them to a minimum

Note: Some websites use Flash extensively; however, it is a bad idea to have too much flash on a site as search engines will always have problems reading the text from such sites and as a result do not yield as much search engine traffic.

Note Also: You should know what sections/features you want before discussing your requirements with a web design agency as often the main sections influence how the site will function and this may affect the design of the site.

Content Managed
Most businesses need to be able to change website content on a regular basis. A content management system therefore is a must for any business website. There are several off the shelf content management systems such as WordPress and Joomla which are comprehensive and well established systems however they can restrict design and can be cumbersome to use from an end users point of view. Most good web design companies will have their own very simple and intuitive CMS that can be tailored for a specific client’s needs and does not hinder the design of the site in any way, if a bespoke system is used make sure you try before you buy to ensure you feel comfortable using it. You should also ask is this system Search Engine Optimised.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
Contrary to popular belief, SEO is a not rocket science. Your site must be search engine ready to give it the best chance possible of being matched for a particular search term. The name of the site, the title of the page, headings and page content are all factors inthis, but none of this work matters unless your site is well indexed by search engines, and that means getting as many inward links to your site as possible. The responsibility for getting inward links should be taken on by the customer and targets should be set to achieve good results. Some common ways of getting links might include:

o Direct Link exchanges with customers, suppliers, partners etc.
O Placing links on free and paid for directories (DMOZ, Yahoo etc.)
o Placing links on social media such as boards, blogs, youtube, linkedin etc.

IMPORTANY
Once the site is optimized there are 2 more factors which determine how many hits your

1. How many visitors are searching for the search terms in questions
2. How seriously your competitors have taken their SEO

Social Networks / Media Websites

Depending on the industry there are various social media sites that should be utilised:

LinkedIn: For creating and expanding your business contacts network

Facebook: For interacting with customers, get feedback, have fun, run promotions. Do not create a Facebook account or group if you are not going to have the time to get

YouTube: Promotional, Instructional videos, can apply to most industries

Twitter: Great to offer discounts and give short messages to customers

Bebo: More of a teens social network than Facebook, so depending on your market…

Blogs: Very worthwhile commenting on blogs articles dealing with the particular industry. This should not be spam but a legitimate comment. Most comments allow you to specify your website. It is also worthwhile to creating your own blog on sites such as

Boards: Get involved on relevant boards but never post a link to your site, rather have it
in your signature, people and more importantly google will use this link.

ISSUU: Great site for presenting booklets etc.

N.B. All sites allow you to link back to your own site so they all increase your SEO which is hugely important

Remove flash player 10 use 9

Messenger “9″ 1st version was in Beta (testing) form. The newest version is not, But it’s not working well either. Stick to 8.1 until they work out the Bugs. Including people using 8.1 trying to message ones with 9 or reverse they are having compatibility problems; like text not showing, pictures not showing. It shuts down on Vista users , not allowing people to log in.Web cams do not always work. Many things do not work or are missing that YM 8.1 has. It Seems for Vista users it is so buggy Yahoo is giving up on it and are no longer trying to fix it. Http://www.ymessengerblog.com/blog/2008/…
You need to remove version 9 1st to Get version 8 to work.
Use this method: Start,My PC, C drive, open Program files.Next open Yahoo file then Messenger file.Click on UNWISE to Un install messenger 9 completely. Do not just delete yahoo file as this can cause problems with other Yahoo programs.
Download the newest 8.1 here http://download.yahoo.com/dl/msgr8/us/ym…
Your contacts list and messages are stored online and will be there when you return to 8.1 messenger.
Another big problem is with the latest update for Flash Player
Flash player 10 Does have conflicts, and is causing some Yahoo Messenger services to not load.Use the link below for a download of Flash player # 9.0.124.0 . You have to remove the present flash player,add/remove programs in control panel, then download the older version.

Some people are losing signal, things fade out, freezing up or getting disconnected . This can be caused my running low on virtual memory! You can increase your memory by going to start button, settings, control panel, system, advance tab, performance, advance tab, virtual memory, change it, make it 1500 kb or higher, In both boxes, click apply then ok .
